NCEP 4.0km WRF-NMM Run

Thanks so much....the one I look at says 120926/1200F001....I understand the date part and the 001; does the 1200 refer to UTC 12 time?...as in 6AM EST?...thanks

YYMMDD/HHMMFHHH

YY = Year
MM = Month
DD = Day
HHMM = Time (in UTC/Z)
F = Forecast
HHH = Forecast Hour (001 = forecast hour 1)

So that is the map valid 1 hour after 12Z. 12Z = 8am EDT / 7am EST (not 6am.) The map therefore is valid 9am EDT / 8am EST.

Hi MG -- In this case ("120926/1200F001"), the format is as follows:

YYMMDD/HHMMFhhh

where hhh represents the forecast hour (01-36). So, 120926/1200F001 represents forecast hour 1 from the 1200 UTC model run; the output are valid at 1300 UTC.

Edit: rdale beat me by a few seconds ;P
