A few of you may have happened to find this by now, but I thought I would let the rest of the chasing community know.
Currently there is a new National Geographic Special Issue called “Nature’s Fury†on the newsstands now with a cover price of $10.99. This is not the usual National Geographic you are used to seeing. This can also be ordered through the National Geographic Single Copy Department, but delivery time will be four to six weeks. You can call them at: 800 777-2800 if you chose to go that route.
The 96 page issue graphically displays the events we commonly call natural disasters. Pages 69 through 75 are a section devoted to tornadoes. Two of the photos show Tim Samaras and Brian Morganti in action during some of their chases. I wish the write-up for that section would have been more thorough as there is a lot of information that could have been presented.
The following link will lead you to an extensive video display that is part of the National Geographic on line presentation. There is a nice selection that features Tim Samaras. After you click on the link, look to the bottom of the page in the center for a section called “New View of Tornadoesâ€. Be sure to click on the other tabs above the video for additional sections.

It is nice that these gentlemen received some recognition in a respected national magazine.
