I live in miami and read about this unfortunate incident. We Floridians usually lead the nation in fatal lightning strikes. During the summer months, when the sea breeze is strong from both the gulf, and the atlantic, it tends to make for some robust thunderstorms. These middle state thunderstorms often have intense lightning and can surprise the many, many people who partake daily in outdoor activities. This man was just in the wrong place at the wrong time and became a tragic example of how dangerous thunderstorms can be.
