Okay I will begin by saying I am sorry! Next, I will justify my post by saying that I have searched the forum high and low and have not found my answer lol.

Where in the heck can I find RUC/ETA ML LCL/LFC data? I had a model link a little while ago to some super ugly but good RUC maps and have since managed to loose it. The RUC maps were very colorful to say the least!

Up until now I have been using GRIB data sets and it is killing me!

Thanks!

Wow that is pretty ugly...no offense to anyone. You could ask Jon where he got the map from. Personally I like to see numbers and contours...which is why I use the site I shared with you. My favorite site to use is the College of DuPage...but they do not have the ML LCL or LFC like this site does.

It looks like he just pulled the data from Earl's site...but tweeked it a bit with Java Scripting for a neater look. I like his site as you can easily click on a forecast time you would like without having to go back and forth...which is probably why I like COD so much. By the way Jeff...you could draw the same map from your avatar over Green Bay. Severe weather likes to skip over our city...then re intensify before heading to the Lake.

RUC Sharp FAA 604

Wow... Earl's site is popular... and it is also the link I lost haha.

Thanks, I found the RUC and ETA/NAM/WRF (whatever it is called these days) links on Earl's page.

Thanks a bunch!

Now instead of letting this thread simply die, does anyone know how to make RUC2 data work in Sharp? I downloaded the program from weather graphics, installed the airport id file provided by the FSL guys and have rename the text file which is in FAA 604 format correctly. When Sharp loads the file in dos there is a little green blip and the sharp program just exists back to windows. I changed the dew point values in the sounding to 99 even though there were no visible errors. I have been trying now since about 2006 to make Sharp work without any success.

I think I might just invest in ROAB and call it a day.

Yeah I agree, actually
Mike Sager created a great model animator which was purchased by AccuWeather about two years ago. If you do a google search you may be able to find an old version of it. I saved the original site but have not been able to re-work the code (it is way too complex). It was basically totally interactive and you could loop anything by mousing over or pushing the loop button, it also had the COD, NCEP, UCAR and McGill model maps which was great!

Google Mike Sager's Weather Forecast Animator.
