• After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.

I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.

For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.

From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.

    Sincerely, Jeff D.

Mobile App Data Usage / Radarscope

Just wanted to throw this one out there. I have been a Grlevel3 user for years and love it's small footprint on data usage. Because I am primarily a mac user (now) I run it in parallels. We recently got an iPad. I tried using GR3 in parallels and it, ok, but the lag drives me a little crazy. After reading a lot of reviews I put RadarScope on the iPad. It's also OK but it's certainly not GR3 (severely lacking in [road] map detail). To my point though, after being connected for only about 15 minutes, I noticed it used about 13MB of data on my 250MB plan! After navigating through the different radar products it was apparent (by the speed in which they display) that it downloads every product during every update. Does that sound right? Gr3 only downloads what you have selected. I's like to use RadarScope, but if it's going to eat data that quickly, it will not be an option.

Im not sure how much data Radarscope uses I have the 25 dollar plan for my Iphone but I haven't even come close to using even half my data while using Radarscope this year. That is even after running it plus two other radar apps at the same time plus gps for three days in a row. Now as far as GRL3 goes when I use it while at work all my products update within minutes of each other. The only reason I know that is our internet at work is extremely horrible and it takes ten minutes to even get a full poll to show up.

Hey Dave,

I only use Radarscope for my radar while in chase mode. I don't think I have ever used 13Mb of my 250Mb plan for the full 30 days, let alone a short period of time. If you use animation capabilities with Radarscope it severely reduces the iPad battery life, and may indeed eat up much more data (I haven't investigated the data consumption aspect, however).
