• After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.

I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.

For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.

From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.

    Sincerely, Jeff D.

I know there's been a lot of questions by people regarding Millenicom, so I thought I'd post up my recent findings:

Millenicom operates off of Sprint on all of their plans, with the exception of their 20GB/month "Advanced" plan, which operates on Verizon. This is according to a sales rep I had on the phone. The Advanced plan is $60/month, and there is no option to bring your own device with it. To the best of my knowledge though, this is the only way to get Verizon's data coverage with more than a 5GB/month limit. No contract, as always through Millenicom, so I fully intend on cancelling the service after July and restarting it next spring, to save money in the off-season. The fact that there was, in fact, a plan that could get me on Verizon won me over.

I'll be doing some extensive testing with the unit next week. I ordered it earlier today, it's slated to be in on Monday, per UPS. I ordered it at 8:00 this morning, had a tracking # by noon. Very fast shipping response time.

After some real issues, the Millenicom set-up is working. In the St. Louis, MO area, the Sprint presence is much stronger and thus, I got better service when I was on the Sprint plan. However, when near a Verizon antenna, the service is much faster. The problem is that Verizon antennas are always behind hills it seems. ;)

I look forward to the openness of the plains in a few weeks...

After having a terrible experience with my Sprint card recently and a reduction in the Sprint network footprint, I decided to terminate my contract and sign up for Millenicom advanced plan. I got my U760 modem a few days ago, and it works great plugged into my Cradlepoint. Apparently to get the card to download faster than 500k you'll need to install updated drivers for the device. I used VZAccess website to download the drivers.
