Millenicom Advanced Plan Availability

I am interested in getting the Millenicom Advanced Plan that operates on the Verizon network, but when I go to Millenicom's website, it is not listed. I did some brief internet searches as to why this is, and it seems that sometimes they run out of the Novatel U760 data card that this plan runs on, so they don't offer the plan again until more data cards become available. Anyone know anything about this?

Thanks in advance!

I just ordered one about four days ago and received my modem just now. How strange.

Yes very strange because I just e-mailed them 3 days ago because I had some questions for them and told them I was interested in the Advance Plan and they didn't say anything about this. Was going to sign up but might have to just stick with Verizon now.

3G only devices are no longer being manufactured , so if Verizon does not give them anymore , No more 3G only plan . Simple as that. They are trying to get more . So who knows .

I asked them about this yesterday and they said that they had a few more devices left at that time. If you really want the plan, you should contact them and they might still be able to hook you up.

As for me, I decided it wasn't worth paying $99 for a modem that I might not even be able to re-use after deactivating Millenicom at the end of this season (if they stop offering the plan permanently). I opted to go with a $20 modem on eBay and sign up direct through Verizon this year. The 5 GB cap isn't ideal, but I'll make do. There are definitely advantages to Millenicom, but here's the math I did: $99 device + $15 S/H + $45 activation fee = $160 startup cost for Millenicom. For service through Verizon, $20 eBay device + $35 activation fee = $55 startup cost.

Brett this is what I did last year and it worked fine for me. I don't know how much you chase but I chased 3 times in April, 5 times in May, and 3 times in June and never came close to my cap if I remember right. I streamed video, used GR3/F5 Data/SPC's Mesoanalysis/etc. and like I said it wasn't issue. You probably chase more than me but just wanted to give you a point of reference. I also plan on using Verizon again for the reasons you listed and will use the extra $99 on fuel or a cradlepoint router or an amplifier or anything else I could use.

Anyone use the Pantech UML290 4G LTE USB AIRCARD from Verizon???? It says it's a 4g but claims to be backwards compatible to 3g.
Gordon...Can I plug my Rockies amp into the 3g port on this card and run it through the amp?

Yes it works with that card , Just takes a different adapter cable

Yes, I obtained one when I upgraded plans last month, and my bill dropped from $60/month to $50/month with the same 5 GB monthly cap, yet now including 4G service where available. The device was free with a 2-year contract, which wasn't an issue since I can suspend service during the winter (up to 6 months per year) for a small fee w/out having to a pay any reactivation charges.

The Rockies amplifier still works as it always die on 3G portion of the spectrum, though it is NOT compatible on the 4G frequencies (i.e., 700 MHz) only. I purchased the new adapter that Gordon referred to in his previous post when I received my new device.

If the device has no 4G signal, it will still work on 3G or 2G towers, whichever is available in your area. It automatically switches back and forth without a problem in my experience, as I used it last week in Indiana (Henryville chase) and it worked quite swell.

Thanks for the info...I just picked up a new UML290 from Ebay for $43.00 and I'm going to sign up for Verizon's pay as you go data plan.

A few folks have posted on other forums that Millenicom still has a limited amount of devices available at this time for the advanced plan . If you call direct in to them right away you still might be able to get in on this great plan.

I talked with them yesterday and they told me they were no longer offering the advanced plan and the only other plan that works on the verizon network was the mobile hotspot.
