Microburst in the Flint Hills

Nice pics but I don't think the velocity image applies... That's at about 1500ft up, but it looks like the microburst is spreading closer to the ground. Plus that seems perpendicular to the radar beam.
 
Rob, you are correct on both counts which is why the captured velocity from TWX is so weak. Visually, I could see the diverging winds were fairly strong. I checked and the Ft. Riley Airport had a gust of 27 kts. Since the airport is to the southwest of the microburst, that is a fairly good gust.

KFRI also had at least two gusts to 60 kt. when the second (rainshaft at left) storm moved over the airport.
