• After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.

I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.

For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.

From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.

    Sincerely, Jeff D.

Massive delusion or the future?

Look closely at what's written on that 1st page right above the "enter the site" button... The emphasis is mine, but I think that line says it all as far as how seriously one should take this site. I mean really, stopping tornadoes with laser beams??? This is simply not real science, folks. It's a bad B movie at best, or maybe I should say C or even D movie, because I highly doubt he's ever gonna sell that script. But I'd say selling the script is what it's all about, not stopping tornadoes. I do give him props for coming right out and saying so, though.
Pffft.. Thats not even a D movie. Thats SyFy Original material.

IMO, this guy is just trolling for a rich fish. Or, maybe he's sincere - and in desperate need of a few J.C. physics courses!

Next time you have an opportunity, try tossing firecrackers into a dust devil. Yea, big whoop!
No explosive this side of an atomic bomb is going to do anything meaningful to a tornado.

Microwaves? Lasers??
Maybe Doc Brown can whip up a portable multi-Jigawatt reactor to power the thing! KiloWatt-level beams (semi practical) will do nothing more than blind people and maybe cook a few cows. The storm won't even notice.

HAH, that's great! I was thinking about this a month ago, and was wondering if others had. I don't think we're anywhere near being able to pull it off, short of using some of the most powerful explosives ever made (including sub nuclear.) And, everyone's pointed out the problems with that.

However, I always like keeping perspective of how little of human progression I've been able to witness. I am fairly certain that if humanity doesn't kill itself off, someday, someone will figure out how to interrupt a tornado. We can't even begin to imagine what technology will be like 1,000 years from now, let alone 10,000 years from now. Granted, we sadly won't be there to see it.
