ADAIR, Iowa -- Officials said lightning is to blame for a traffic tie-up on Interstate 80 in western Iowa early Friday.

The lightning hit a semi-trailer, causing it to jackknife. The westbound lane was blocked for about an hour. The Iowa State Patrol says the driver wasn't hurt, but the bolt blew out the driver's side window. It also fried the rig's electrical system, resulting in a loss of power and control.

The mishap happened around 4:30 a.m. near the Adair exit.

I'm a typical arrogant male and usually don't let lightning affect me too much. My general rule is as long as the antennas aren't buzzing, I'll keep shooting photos outside. The way I see it, it's your time to go when it's your time to go. Don't get me wrong... I'm not thaaat stupid. I saw plenty of video from Mulvane, KS and there is no way in heck you'd catch me outside my vehicle with CGs like that around.
