Yesterday and last night, I took some pictures of the Las Conchas fire in NM. This is the fire that has led to the evacuation of Los Alamos and the closure of the Los Alamos National Laboratory.

All I have to say is WOW!.... I have always wanted to photograph widfires in my slow but long career of severe weather. Money is short but time is plentiful at least in the shortterm...

Kudos to you!!!

Very nice Pyrocumulus in photo blah... You hit the sweet spot!

The fire has now reached nearly 104,000 acres, making it the largest fire in the recorded history of New Mexico. I have added information to the site linked above on the effects of the fire on the many cultural, natural, and recreational resources around the Los Alamos area.
