Just remember that everything is BIGGER in Texas!

One might also remember that this isn't true when it comes to hailstones. The current record holder (7.0 inches in diameter, and 18.75 inches in circumference) fell at Aurora, Nebraska on June 22, 2003. The previous record-holder wasn't from Texas either: Coffeyville, KS on Sept. 3, 1970.

Texas: Size isn't everything! :)

Hail yes

Rich & Ryan and I had a near "South Plains hail experience" on the bear's cage north of Tulia on Sat. 4/21. We got absolutely hammered as the supercell took in a big breath and slammed into the north side of Tulia. We could see the hazy shadows of the tornado, but for about 10 mins. solid we were in golfball to baseball sized hail with an occasional softball. The car took a very nasty hit but avoided the windshield/window glass from being broken out amazingly.

Two words...
