• After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.

I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.

For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.

From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.

    Sincerely, Jeff D.

Hey, so I doubt there will be a lot of Canadian winter weather videos on this thread so I decided to add a video I took a couple weeks back in Winnipeg, MB.

Let me know what you think.Watch video >

Yeah well we are pretty used to it now lol. Winds were constant around 50-60km/h and gusting at 80km/h in some areas actually. At one point, there was a "dust stom" but of snow because the wind was so intense not only on the ground, but at mid-latitudes also.

I found the music playing in your car during the first half of the video humorous. It kind've strengthened the notion that people in Canada are pretty accustomed to those conditions. They look all "lah-dee-dah, this is nothing!"

Yeah well I am personally getting used to it anyways haha. There still are a lot of accidents on the roads tho since some people ride with 4 season tires instead of winter tires and the wind & visibility here are the main issues. I think in December up here there were like 20 000 insurance claims due to weather related accidents, which is a lot lol. Here is another video where I'm actually driving if you want to check out how it would look like to drive around here:

I actually got stuck while heading back home due to the large snowbanks on the road lol.

Around 6:10mins you see a truck stuck on the side of the road.

I can relate to the driving conditions in the first video....whiteout conditions...I've had that multiple times driving from Chicago to DeKalb on I-88 this winter. Just take it slow and easy...and pass all slower 18-wheelers with caution. As far as the 2nd video...I only *wish* I could drive that fast on a snow covered road LOL. Fun to watch. Amazing you could brake so well. And the music...I was waiting for Willy Wonka to show up somewhere.

Yeah well in the 2nd video it was in fast forward, but I was still going around 100km/h on the highway. I think the biggest problem is the 18 wheels when they pass you on the highway and the passing lane is covered with banks of snow and it just sends a wave of snow flying in your windshield reducing visibility to 0....

I live in Stonewall, Manitoba and there have been many times this winter were I could only see several feet in front of my truck at 40 - 50 km/h. Luckily the highways haven't iced up to much this winter.

Here is a short clip of the wind on Jan. 15 2014 at about 12:45 pm on a sunny afternoon off my front deck about 45km north of Winnipeg, Manitoba.
