• After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.

I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.

For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.

From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.

    Sincerely, Jeff D.

I am going to the Jim Reed exhibit and talk at the Corcoran Gallery in downtown DC (near the White House). I was wondering if anyone else from ST was going and would like to join up?

It's on July 9th, at 7pm

Now this is the first time I've heard about this. I'm considering going. Jim Reed has some of the best photography I've ever seen.

I'll be looking at a schedule to see if this is a possibility for me.

I wish I could go, but money is holding me back. Greg, can you pick me up? :)

I have Jim Reed's book and he has some really fantastic shots. Why is this for one day only and not an extended viewing period?

The Corcoran is small, and rather prestigious place to get any time in....Jim's work would have to rank with the top photographers of the world to get a longer exhibit.

Due to schedule conflicts, a full gallery was simply not an option for the time frame alotted. We were able to do a presentation with a few photos there. A full gallery plan is in the works for later down the road.

Weather photographer Jim Reed will give a special one hour presentation at the Corcoran Gallery of Art in Washington, DC on July 29, 2009 at 7:00 PM.

Jim will discuss the increasingly popular genre of weather photography, our changing climate, and America's cultural phenomena known as storm chasing.

On this extraordinary night of art and nature, Jim shares -- through his stunning images and video -- what it feels like to be within one-hundred-fifty feet of a twister, to be inside the dead-calm eye of a monstrous category four hurricane, and to survive a direct hit by Katrina.

Singled out by critics as one of the most unique and interpretive photographers working today, Jim's credits include National Geographic, Nikon, The New York Times, Reader's Digest, Time Magazine, and The Discovery Channel, to name a few.

In addition to showing photographs from his newest book, "Storm Chaser: A Photographer's Journey," Jim will sneak peek his newest project and share never-before-seen images. He signs copies of his book following the talk.

Tickets to the program are $15 for Corcoran members; $20 for the public. To receive the member rate online, you can use the member code: REED.
Pre-registration for this program is encouraged.

The Corcoran Gallery of Art stands as a major center of American art, both historic and contemporary.
