• After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.

I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.

For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.

From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.

    Sincerely, Jeff D.

It snowed in Sweden

In area in Central Sweden, where temperature was in 80's a few days ago, wide snow fell today. Air temperature dropped to 30's.

Reported by newspaper Postimees relaying the news report from Helsingin Sanomat.

Central Sweden is almost on the same latitude with Estonia. Of course, it is not normal at this season. This cold air arrived here at midnight with heavy downpour and right now, air temperature here is only 50's and there is risk of night freezes. No more summer clothes outside for a while... Current air temperature is 57,4 degrees.

At the moment I did not find any averages for Sweden, but this is average temperature is Sweden at June 2006 - http://www.smhi.se///sgn0102/maps/ttm_0606.gif

However, that snow layer so far south was unusual - http://news.monstersandcritics.com/...the_heatwave_-_snow_hits_north-western_Sweden. Interesting is that this article mentions snow in Northwestern Sweden while Postimees and its source, Helsingin Sanomat mentions Central Sweden

LOL, and to think that some poor soul has enough boredom to actually use the star rating system.

Anyway, I do actually find this interesting... as would most people interested in meteorology. In other words, if you don't have anything to contribute, then don't contribute.

However, in regards to the meteorology in question... I can't say that I'm too surprised. The latitude is about as far north as central Canada. I was under the assumption that Estonia was further south... more in line with the northern portion of the United States.

Gulf Stream and North Atlantic Current keeps us warm. That's why we have weather what made you to have such assumption. To just make it sure, Estonia is at about 58 degrees North, as north as the state of Alaska in USA. If Gulf Stream should stop, then... this would be like Southern Sweden.
