In recent years, I've visited a number of tropical islands, and have been charmed by many. I'm talking chiefly about the Carribean, which has the US or British West Indies. Based on their topography, and the trade winds, I know the islands vary widely in rainfall amounts, and that Aruba and Bonaire, both being relatively flat, get very little rain. But St. Thomas and St. Kitts may have much better prospects, and I'm told that St. Maarten, a fascinating place of two cultures, has many storms. I do not limit my search for only the Carribean. Bermuda is a lovely place where t-storms are no total stranger, even in their "winter". I'm not necessarily looking for tornado action, but crave good old-fashioned loud thunderstorms!! Is there an internet site that provides detailed data on the number of thunderstorms per each (or several) tropical islands? Thunderstorm quality, I'm sure, varies as well as rain amount, and this is the info I wish to seek. Some of you may also have had personal experiences that you just can't find from dull statistics. Might make a big difference where to rent a time-share!.......
