hobobuster
Hello all. I thought I'd post an introduction of myself here, since I plan on being an active member, and soon to be big time chaser. Please allow me to tell you a bit about myself:
I am 21 years old, and have been interested in weather since i was 7, and focusing on severe weather since i was 13. I live in Rogers, AR, which is in Benton county, the extreme northwest corner of Arkansas, and am a 911 Operator/Dispatcher for Police, Fire, and EMS in my city. I have a beautiful wife, Ashley, who is a professional photographer and a striking 18 month old son, Aidyn. We live near my station, and enjoy all mediums of art. I have my guitar and weather studies, she has her photography at work and the photography business we are starting locally (already got the website going and everything!
).
Weather comes second only to my family and my job, and often ties into both. I hope to eventually make a career out of meteorology, or at least a great hobby out of storm chasing. I have done a great deal of research over the past two years on severe weather, and even got my spotters certification. I also have a fully functional copy of GR2Analyst, which i have streaming nearly every day. Very soon I should have my Technician HAM license as well. I have delved deeply into studying how severe weather prediction works, and have even made a few successful forecasts on my own (privately, of course). All my studying, including a number of stormtracks guides as well, have just given me an itch to really get involved. I already help tons of people with my job, but becoming a chaser would let me do that even more. I know newbies aren't looked upon with very good graces at first by the more experienced people of the chase community, but I hope one day I can be good enough to gain the respect of some, and then pass on my help to others entering into this most exciting profession.
I am also looking forward to using our new Canon Rebel T2i DSLR, and have been studying weather photography as well.
Anyways, thanks so much for the acceptance, and please, tell me about yourself!
