Interesting Cloud Picture

That is really odd but cool to look at. I've never seen jet contrails cut through a cloud like that before. Thanks for sharing mike.
 
Looks like a contrail within a distrail. Pretty cool stuff.

Interestingly, I believe there was a thread on here a couple years back about so-called hole-punch clouds over northeastern Texas. The June 2010issue of AMS's BAMS features an article on hole-punch clouds. I think the article is publicly-available -- see the following:

For those unfamiliar, BAMS is kind of a "general audience" journal intended to be read by all members of AMS. As such, articles in BAMS tend to be more general and not as technical as those in other journals.
