I saw on a comercial update on the weather channel just before I turned it off that Flossie now a Hurricane could hit Hawaii but they did not say the path of it. I realy dont know where to check for Hurricane paths for the Pacific Ocean does anyone know any good sites? Thoughts?

This is the Central pacific hurricane center, they cover the area from 140W to the dateline.
The sst's are usually not favorable to support a hurricane moving in from the east along with strong SW winds aloft. Hawaii only experiences strong storms coming up from the south at a fairly rapid forward motion. This type of setup is usually found during strong El-Nino events, hurricane Iniki 1992 for example.

Flossie is now a Category 4 Hurricane and is aiming right for Hawaii. Sustained winds are around 140 MPH with higher gusts. Realy inpressive on satalite. Anyone going to be in Hawaii to chase this thing?

This Hurricane has weakend considerably to a Catigory 2 Hurricane as it moves towards Hawaii. It looks to stay just south of Hawaii but will still affect the main island. I have been told that dry cooler air over Hawaii is what is killing the Hurricane. Thoughts?

Interestingly enough, it seems that sheer has blown north most of the convection north of the center of circulation across the big island. Thankfully flossie has weakened to a TS.
