HRRR did pretty well today!

Yes, the CAM's have certainly impacted chasing! It will be interesting when the HRRR goes operational and is then upgraded to the HRRRE, so you get a more robust set of solutions. There are also regional CAM's like the HopWRF, which I am a part of as well. As we get into severe season, it's always interesting to see what they're doing.
 
Both the HRRR and the 4km NAM nailed yesterday's setup down in west TX. Both showed a storm firing in W TX north of Midland and rolling it SE. Made today's forecast easy, as last night I knew Big Spring was going to be the target. Kudos to the folks tweaking with those models.
