Okay. First, go here:
http://developer.motorola.com/membership/join/
And register. Just make stuff up; it's a site designed for
developers, but they don't have to know you're not one. Then, once
you've signed in, go here:
http://developer.motorola.com/docstools/USB_Drivers/Handset_USB_Driver/Handset_USB_Driver_32_v2.6.2.0.zip/
Download that file, unzip it, and install it. Your handset should now
be recognized (both as a phone and as a modem) when you plug it in.
Voila!
BTW, this also works with XP. If your cellphone uses a USB connection, this means that you don't need to buy the "data kit" to use the phone as a modem. Just download those drivers, install them, and then plug your phone into your computer.
