• After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.

    I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.

    For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.

    From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.

    Sincerely, Jeff D.

Hinting game: weather!

* 80 tornadoes affected 10 states this day including one reported in DC
* 2 F4s
* 4 deaths
* 6 TVA transmission towers were destroyed
* Nashville, Knoxville, Huntsville, and Bowling Green Metropolitans Areas hardest hit
* My hometown got hit by two tornadoes in this outbreak one was an F3

You are correct Mr. Mojito!!!!,

The two F4s were in Anderson Hills, AL and Ethridge, TN; the Ethridge tornado was featured in the The Weather Channel Video Tornadoes '95. The supercell from that tornado later produced an F3 tornado in Crossville, TN my hometown.

OK here we go

1. This one started as a thunderstorm complex in Northwest Kansas.
2. 39 tornadoes
3. Lasted approx 15 hours and 28 minutes
4. Effected the Northwest Corner of North Carolina
5. Caused failure of NWS equipment in Carbondale, Ill

-This late fall outbreak was centered on a very large city.
-At one point there were three cells with tubes on the ground simultaneously in the metro area.
-A large F2 tornado passed right through the middle of the city.
-In one of the scariest near misses ever by a violent tornado in a major metro area, a 3/4 mile-wide F4 hit the outer suburbs.
-Amazingly, there were ZERO fatalities.

-It took place in a Tornado Alley state, but it happened in an unlikely location outside of the actual Alley.
-It was the subject of an article by a well known meteorologist and chaser who is one of Stormtrack's old school contributors.
-That article is still posted somewhere on this site.
