Ham Radio (Study Material?)

I read the book, helped me understand a few things I was unclear of. With that said, if I wasn't wanting to expand within my HAM Radio community I probably would not have bothered buying or reading the book. I know a few people who just memorized the questions and passed the test for just the sole purpose of using HAM for spotting/chasing communications. Read the book in 4 days - I'm a slow reader - and downloaded a free app (any will do if it offers the exam practice test) to study the questions & take practice exams. Like Drue said, once you consistently hit 80% (or higher) you will pass the exam more than likely.

Think I will buy the book and use it for later reference, good to know and thanks for posting.

Brian, I used qrz.com (as mentioned) and the test booklet that comes with that edition. The test book is cool to have around when you don't have a laptop or your phone with you. I just blackened out the wrong answers..LOL I'm thinking about doing the same for General this year as I want to get a mobile HF rig for my chase vehicle. Good luck with it all sir.

Yeah there's two ways to look at it.. It you're truly interested in ham as a hobby, and you think you might want to go further with it, read the book and actually learn the material, because it will be to your benefit later on.. If you strictly want it as an extra means of communication during storms, then go ahead and "study the test".

Brian, go to www.hamwhisperer.com. The Technician level stuff the guy who runs the site offers for free through video tutorial helped me back in 2011 and has helped others I know score 100% on the Technician exam. Good luck!
