During the last two years, and especially during my vacation slot down south, I heard chasers on 2m only maybe a handful of times, and FRS/GMRS maybe twice as often, but not as often as I would expect. I know a bunch of streaming chasers are using PTT over Cellular/Network radio type things, I think based on some of the talk permit tones probably Motorola Wave, but that's just guesswork.

My local chase partners are still coordinating on 2m ham frequencies.

I often don't turn on my radio when chasing except when 1) in my home WFO area to patriciate in a Skywarn net, 2) my chase partner is in a different vehicle than me (rare - but it happened on 1 of the 2 chases I have done this year), or 3) another chaser who is a ham is known to be in the same area (usually this is Daniel Shaw and I actually talked with him on my chase last night over UHF).

KC9MSG. Run the skywarn group for my ham radio club as well as the skywarn section on our discord page. Restarting my chase team this season which will be called Tri-County Storm Intercept Team based out of Chicago and cover Northern Cook, Lake and McHenry counties.
