We were staying in Salina for at least the first week of our chasecation this year, but that all changed today. Last night's training of thunderstorms over Salina and surrounding areas dropped 6-8 inches of rain on the area causing severe flooding, including in the campground where we were staying. Water in much of the campground got as deep as 6 inches. Earlier today the manager of the campground went around telling everyone that the campground might need to be evacuated due to rising flood waters. We're on the road now, heading for Grand Island, NE. Hopefully this move will work to our advantage and let us more easily go after storms in SD, NE, and IA. I'll have pictures of the flooded campground posted in the next 24 hours.
