• After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.

I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.

For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.

From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.

    Sincerely, Jeff D.

I am having problems with my GRLevel3. I cant open the application because it says I need to adjust my system clock. Does anyone know how to do that?

Go over to the GRLevelX Owner forum and do a search for "Time Application". Mike wrote an app the will download the correct time and sync your computer to it. It's a free download.

Are you kidding me? We really need a special program to do what you can do in 3 clicks with a mouse? Not to knock Mike, but seriously, it would take more effort to go and download the program than to just change it yourself.

I have been trying to sync the internet time but for some reason I get an error message saying "An error accord when getting the status of the last synchronization. The RPC server is unavailable." I will try locating this RPC server and get it working or I am going to have to download that software.

I know this is stating the obvious, but are you connected to the internet when you do it? Do you have a firewall on blocking it? Have you tried both time servers? In WinXP it gives you the option of the Windows server or the GOV server.

Need? No. You can change the clock however you want.

But for those on operating systems that DON'T automatically set the time, he wrote this so you don't have to install any freeware apps. You just run this at boot if needed and all it does is set the time and exit.

But for those on operating systems that DON'T automatically set the time

I'm not sure what operating systems don't have this feature; windows does, Linux does and I wouldn't be surprised if MacOS does as well. Unless you just can't get the default feature to work I think the point is why download redundant software?

It (grtime.exe) is a simple app that shows the nist.gov time, your computer's time, and the delta. I've found having the delta is handy when helping users debug computer time problems, which are typically related to time zone/daylight settings. You would be surprised at all the screwy time problems out there, especially with all the daylight changes this year.

Anyway, it's just a little utility app that people can use or ignore.

Mike

I have another problem with GRlevel3

I can't get it to display any warnings. I have had them in the past.
I have tried using the allenhouse and COD warning servers. no luck.
