• After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.

I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.

For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.

From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.

    Sincerely, Jeff D.

I am going to purchase a wireless internet card through AT&T for chasing this spring. The one I am looking at is a USBConnect Mercury, its only going to cost me 60 bucks for the two year contract, but its also 48 cents per Kilobyte of information I receive. All I plan on having open while chasing is GRlevel 3 and the spc page. Does anyone have a rough idea of how many KB's grlevel3 takes per download?

I think Doyle is confused, it's 5GB limit per month and if you somehow go over that you get charged some odd cents per MB I believe it is.. not KB. You aren't going to pay $60/month for the service and on top of that pay 48 cents per kilobyte.

Just looked over their press release:

Pricing and Availability

The AT&T USBConnect Mercury is available today at no cost¹ through AT&T business sales channels, online at wireless.att.com and in company-owned AT&T retail locations for customers who choose a two-year DataConnect plan of $60 or more. AT&T offers a variety of DataConnect rate plans, including a plan for up to 5 gigabytes (GB) of domestic use for $60 a month for customers.

Customers traveling outside the U.S. can choose one of AT&T's DataConnect North America or DataConnect Global plans. The DataConnect North America plan includes 100 megabytes (MB) of monthly data use in Canada and Mexico plus 5 GB of monthly data use in the U.S. for $109.99 per month. DataConnect Global plans offer discounted data rates in 67 popular countries plus 5 GB of data use in the U.S. For $139.99 per month customers receive 100MB of monthly data in those 67 countries, or for $229.99 per month customers receive 200MB of monthly use in those same 67 countries. Visit www.att.com/wirelessinternational for more information.

Why not buy the card on ebay and be contract free ? I have the exact same card and it's very nice and gets great signal when hooked up to my amp and external Antenna. I just wish AT&T would expand the 3G !!! Now you can only pay $20 a month for that card if you already have a voice plan.

So they have broken the terms of the agreement then? I may have to pay them a little visit. Quite honestly, I think their service is pathetic compared to Verizon. This may be a good opportunity to switch carriers. :-)

You are still under the terms that you agreed too and still have unlimited data. I have both services and the big V is not any better down here on the gulfcoast.
