Nathan Elsner
Hello all.
My name is Nate Elsner and I hail from and live in Southeastern Wisconsin.
I have always been fascinated with weather. All through my youth when everyone would run for cover from storms, I would be the weird kid sitting on the porch, watching and listening to Mother Nature put on her show. Plus I'm an avid fisherman. If you want to be any good at that sport you need to have one eye on the weather all of the time. Not only in forecasting, but for safety on the water. Where I fish the weather can switch on a dime and you can find oneself up "the proverbial creek" in a big hurry.
I'm a spotter(ducks). Well, hopefully more like an intercept/chaser/spotter.
2008 will be my first year out in the field. Spent the last year in "sponge mode" soaking things up and learning whatever I can to keep myself safe, and have hopefully gleaned enough to have some rough idea of what is happening weather wise. Honestly I hope to never get out of "sponge mode" because there is always more to learn.
I've done a bit of graphics work for MASA (Milwaukee Area Skywarn Association)which can be viewed on their website.
My ham callsign is: KC9LYY
I've been lurking here since last April reading every thread that I can. This is a tremendous educational resource in my opinion.
Normally I'm pretty quiet on any forum I participate in. Most certainly I'm quiet on any forum that has an educational aspect to it. I keep my mouth shut (ears and eyes open) unless I have something to contribute or a question that I need assistance with. So my post count may be low for quite a while.
Thanks for the opportunity to be a part of this forum.
