Ok I am looking for a good laptop mount for my truck. Right not I am just using my arm rest to put my computer on while spotting. Anyone know a good one that is also not very expensive?

Purchased mine here....

The mount wouldn't fit to the seat bolt (problem with where the bolt is located on my seat, not a fault with the mount), so I mounted it to the floorboard. It was very stable with my 15" widescreen laptop, and for 40 bucks you couldn't find a better deal. I would advise to get the quick disconnect.

Mines basically just a boat seat swivel with two pieces of wood mounted to it. I fixed up the bottom piece of wood to where it would sit level on my seat. Put a piece of wood on the front that butts up against the front of my seat then I put my middle seat belt around a deal on the back of it and snug it down. on the top piece of wood I put some rubber corner pieces at all four corners that my laptop sits down in. I was sure to pick out a swivel that was tight, and it of course mounts between the two pieces of wood. Painted the thing black. I'm completely happy with it. Looks good, cheap, easy to do (for a truck with a bench seat anyway), still plenty of room for a passenger, very stable, low profile, etc...

RAM mounts all the way. I tried a cheap ebay mount and it ended up swinging and swaying and eventually literally through my computer on the floor of my car. So in my opinion a good mount is worth a little more because to me saving 50 dollars isn't worth losing a computer, so if it were me I would say spend a little extra up front and you'll be happy with what you get.

I've used the same one for the past 4 years with no problems at all. Best $50 I've ever spent.

I bought and use a Jotto Desk mount with the custom baseplate for my truck.

It was expensive and I had to do some cutting on the base plate to get it to work the way I wanted, but it holds the laptop securely even on the rough back roads of a chase, and locks down tight when I want it to lock down and is nice and flexible when I want it to be. Very much worth the money.

The great thing is I can pull it out and only leave the base plate in the truck which is invisible for day to day driving when I'm not chasing; whether the target is a supercell or a much more mundane wayward cyclist on one of the bike rides for the radio club.

I have two words for you: Buy either a Jottodesk or Ram mount.
A lesser known, but equally good is Jenko. Had one of those in my van, but it got burned up. I never found another one, and got my Jotto on ebay for $30....couldn't argue that.

I Googled "Jenko" and it brought up a company named Jeniko Inc., which I had never heard of until your post Jason. They do have a website with what appears to be a decent looking mount and pretty good prices as well. Just in case the original poster needs the information you can find the company website here: Jeniko.
