I took a little trip to the Silverton area yesterday and got some flood video. That area has received from 6-8 inches of rain in the last 3 days. It made for some good video. Enjoy!

FLOODING

Nice video...and that brings up another point to remember with next week's possible chase opportunities...with all of the rain that OK and TX is currently getting, those back roads are gonna be really MESSY! ;)

Yes, the roads will definitely be waterlogged so watch out if you chase next week around the panhandle, especially the southern area.

Jason,

Very nice video with good clarity.

I recall a couple of months ago one of the topics that was kicked around was whether transpiration in that area would be enough to help keep the dry line moving back and forth with the lack of moisture.

I would venture to guess that transpiration won't be need there for a couple of weeks. Brandon's point about the roads is definitely one to keep in mind. Of course, I've seen a few photos lately of some of the chase vehicle setups that the owners are probably just itching to get into that area.;)

I think a problem with the models this year will be trying to put the dryline further east that what it will actually be. The reason...more ground moisture in the southern plains which will hold the dryline back a bit. I remember this being the case back in 07 quite a few times. There will be a lot of evapotranspiration occurring when daytime heating gets going again.
