First Snow in One Hundred Years-Baghdad

I was there 2 years ago at this time. We had semi-frequent below freezing temperatures in Dec/Jan/Feb but never any snowfall. I would have loved to see that. But while many of you were suffering SDS, I was seeing a few thunderstorms. :p
 
I'm not saying this is strong evidence for global cooling or not, but...

Ironically, wouldn't global warming promoters argue that this is a direct effect of global warming?

I saw this story yesterday, I thought it was pretty interesting. I read something that they may have had snow back in the 40's or 50's. Either way, that's a long time.

Strange to think that only a few hundred miles to the west the mountains of Israel, Lebanon and Syria actually get significant snowfall.
