I see they just published the final agenda and speakers list for the Storm Chaser Convention. Below is a link to the schedule (and website) and there is a link to a more detailed pdf file of the schedule. I think it will be a great convention this year with nice talks on VORTEX 2, tornado formation and forecasting, boundaries, orographic lift and the awesome 2010 season. For those who want to refresh their forecasting, Tim Vasquez has his forecasting school the Friday evening of the conference.

I won't be attending this year. I made the decision to save the $400-500 I would drop going to it for actual chasing this year. Its a great event, just a little on the expensive side. On another note, SevereStudios will once again be streaming the event Live. Here is more info on that: http://www.severestudios.com/ChaserConLive

Everyone have fun and safe travels!

After much agonizing I decided to register and made my reservations yesterday. I may not be able to spend as much on chasing because of the money spent on the conference, but I'm hoping to gain a lot of information to make my future chasing more productive. Looking forward to it!

Yes, Adam Lucio and I are taking the Amtrak Wednesday and arriving Thursday. I save roughly 230dollars versus plane fare this way, but in contrast, I lose 2 days on a train.

EDIT: With only 3 posts(I have posted more) I kind of look like the weird creeper guy on these forums... :/

Trains are fun...and I think you train has pretty nice accomodations. I suspect your are going coach. Do you know what the travel time is from Chi to Den? I would have been on the same train as I had said if I go...I would take the train...although I have to add the leg on the Capital Limited out of DC. I won't fly...if I can help it....with all the new regs. I have the time too...just not the funds.

Travel time from CHI to DEN is approx 18 hours. Only cost $208...great ride, no hassles, booze, power for computer and lots of room... The time is not a factor vs. comfort for me!

Adam Lucio I think will be joining you for the full trip this time, I am flying out.

So obviously I will be attending :)

I had thought about going, and if I had, I would have been on the same train as Mike and Adam but starting from Toledo. Alas I had some unforeseen expenses come up and will not be able to attend.

Sorry for the late reply. I ended up paing 234.00 for my trip, but i'm taking a train to chicago then from chicago to Denver. I think it is more around 208 like johnathan stated earlier. I leave CHI 2pm wednesday arrive DEN Thursday 715am I believe. then sunday 7pm leave and arrive chicago 2:50pm monday. You should go! the more on the more fun it would be. If anyone else suspects they'll be on this train i'll bring dice and dollars for some ship capt crew. :D
