Came across this unique product in a pop mech magazine earlier today. It seems as if new technology is being developed to use lasers to detect wind profiles in the vertical and horizontal. In the magazine it said the technology was only developed out to 1000m, but the website claims that it is still in the infant stages. It is being developed for the use on wind turbines, but being a weather junkie, I see the potential for wonderful use of such a network somewhere down the road. Link is below for those interested...
