I experienced the blizzard in Norman, OK January 31-February 1, 2011 when OKC received a foot of snow. BUT...the textbook & benchmark blizzard for me occurred October 3-4, 2013 in Rapid City, SD, early for sure, in the middle of Fall.
No tornadoes like in northeast NE. Just two feet of snow, with lightning, thunder, and winds gusting to 65+ mph!
The Deadwood-Lead, SD area got four feet of accumulation in the Black Hills. Travel disruptions, power outages, & ranching issues abounded. As you might imagine, lots of blowing and drifting snow. So, it was no picnic, especially if you wanted to use the snow-covered, picnic table in the center of photo #3 below taken in Rapid City, SD.
