• After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.

I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.

For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.

From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.

    Sincerely, Jeff D.

I have some video I have to send in for a tv show. It is basically an extended highlight clip that is about 40 minutes long. I tried to export this to a data cd, but the file size is massive 6.4GB and it won't fit on the cd. I tried zipping it and it only compressed it to 5.6GB. I was going to export it to a dvd, but it always seems like the quality drops off when I do that. I basically don't know what to do hear and I need to ship the video tomorrow. If I go to a dvd what is the best format to use? Any ideas on how to get this on a cd or any other possible way of saving this video to something please let me know. I am desperate here.

Upload your video as an AVI file then export it back to a blank mini dv tape...DVD's only have a 4.7 GB capacity...

You could try splitting the files into 2, then just put your DVD in, and open it...and then drag the file over to the DVD. Then do it again for the second one. Make sure you hit "make compatible" at the end of burning it, so it's compatible with other computers. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the help Dick. I don't know what in the hell I was thinking. I've exported to mini dv before. The only problem is that my camera is about shot, so the quality kind of sucks. I tried cleaning the head, but that didn't help. Anyways, I got it copied over so it's a done deal now. I'm just glad it's over with. thanks again
