EF-S 15-85 mm F/3,5-5,6 IS USM

Hello,

I own Canon EOS 500D and with that came a standard kit lens (18-55 mm). I was thinking about an upgrade to some sort of better, universal lens. Reviews of 15-85 mm lens are quite promising, but I wonder whether such lens would be good also for storm chasing activities

Do you have experience with this lens? Would you recommend it or would you go for another one? And if, which would it be?

I have that lens and really like it. I like how wide it is at 15mm. It really compliments my 11-16mm Tokina. It focuses real fast and 85mm is good enough for most storm shots.
