Double storm lines

A few days ago, I observed a fairly strong linear storm system in Richmond, VA. On radar, this appeared as a very straight line tilted from the southwest toward northeast. I'm assuming this was along an advancing cold front. What I'm curious about is a second line, about ten miles behind the first. This didn't appear on radar except for a small area at the north end of the cloud line. My question is, why does this second line form?

Thanks in advance for your thoughts on this.

A line of storms? Or just clouds/showers? Any radar snaps / surface features / upper air plots / etc from the time in question?

The clouds most liekly formed off of forcing from the cold pool behind the storms or by the forcing of the cold front itself (as a mature line of storms can race out ahead of the cold front).
