The Little Sioux Scout Camp is located just northeast of Little Sioux, Iowa, and was destroyed by an EF-3 tornado last Wednesday, June 11. The tornado killed four Scouts and injured 40+ others. It was the same tornado that hit Kenny Allen and Kelly Martinson while storm chasing.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the families and everyone affected by the tornado. For the next 72 hours, Severestudios wants to help raise funds to rebuild the Scout camp, and to help the kids who deserve to have a positive place to visit in the summer.

100% of the funds they raise between now and Sunday at Midnight CDT will be given to the Scout Ranch. SevereStudios has already pledged $1000.00 to get things started. So please help the Scouts rebuild this camp for future Scouts. And let others know. Spread the word. Thanks.

Tim,

Thanks for sharing and I will pass this along to those outside of the chasing community. I was going to give and this makes it easy. I planning my oldest son's Eagle ceremony and my youngest just returned from his camping adventure in Colorado. My heart and prayers goes out to these families especially since I have been a leader at one of these Scout camps during severe weather and know it is affecting not only the families of these boys but also the entire Scouting community.

Bob,
You are entitled to your opinion and thoughts, but I find them to be without any stated merit. I see two guys who found themselves in an unfortunate circumstance and they got national attention for it. Now they are trying to help out a scout camp they were virtually right next to when it happened.
They are now attempting to help raise money for this camp and have even provided a list of what is needed according to the scout camp.
I have never seen the same type attacks made on the others who have found themselves in this kind of situation. For example, Reed, Eric, Amos, and some others. I did not see or hear the outrage either when people here tried to help the people of Greensburg.
If you do not wish to donate through Severe Studios, then by all means, go through another channel of your choosing to make your donation. I just feel you should not be knocking or questioning them for trying to help. Your comment is without fact or merit, unless you know something for sure and then you should be bold enough to say it.
Personally, I plan on traveling back to Iowa from Alabama when the time comes so that I can help in the rebuilding effort, in addition to my financial donation.
I don't care through which channel people give to help the scouts, just please help instead of knocking someone else who does try to help.

Bob,

I am very sorry if you thought we were "spamming" you. That definition is certainly thrown around loosely these days. I just did a dump of my address book and the streamer database into an email.

We are truely trying to help the Scouts. I'm not sure where you got the idea that this is "self-aggrandizement" (whatever that means! too big of a word for my small brain!).

We used to ask for donations to keep the ChaseCam network rolling. Obviously that changed last week.

You'll notice the link to donate to the Scout fund has a different name, and we are keeping the Scout donations completely secure and separate from anything else we are doing at SS.

Regardless, if you choose to donate directly to the BSA, that's FANTASTIC too! We are just trying to use our contacts and promotional skills to help these kids.

Kory
