• After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.

I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.

For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.

From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.

    Sincerely, Jeff D.

After much deliberation. I have decided that it is finally time to sell my domain at stormskies.com. I have held this domain since 2003, but it is no longer relevant or appropriate for me to hang on to it.

It's been a great ride - and David Drummond at Dryline Hosting has served me loyally through thick and thin since the start. In it's heyday, stormskies.com pulled in 500-1,000 visitors a day (if my foggy memory serves me correctly) during busy chase seasons when a new (and successful) chase account was posted.

Anyways - less of the beating around the proverbial bush.

I am willing to sell the domain name www.stormskies.com if anybody is interested in purchasing it. I've heard that .com urls are getting harder and harder to come by these days......at least ones with addresses that make any sense. It seems like there's a myriad of chase-related ones out there, that's for sure.

This unofficial "auction" will only be up until 5:00PM CDT Friday, August 28th - so please PM me if you are interested in bartering for my domain.

Cheers,

KP

Did you get a URL appraisal done...to know what your baseline or minimum acceptable bid would be. It's sometime hard to get a URL. I'm actually trying to buy a domain from a company, but haven't done the appraisal yet.

I've had several online appraisals done - but from what I read their estimates are pretty hoakey. Your URL's only worth what someone wants to pay for it. I don't have huge excpectations......:p

Thanks for the tips, though!

According to urlappraisal.net I am virtually a millionaire. Who knew?!??? :D Seriously......any and all bids welcomed.

Absolutely correct Karen...what ever it is worth to the right person. Someone with the desire to use that name is much more willing to pay the price.

There are many domain appraisal services out there, but the good ones (not all that cheap) usually have a certified appraisal with certain criteria. I'm no expert, but I know a few folks have used the appraisals for selling domains up to $10,000. The free ones are junk, which is no surprise.

Good Luck BTW...listing you web stats certainly will help (It's all about the Unique Visitors).

Wow, thanks for bringing this up! I did a google search for my website (TornadoFX.com) as "Tornado FX" and it appears there is a trading company called "TornadoFX". Their current website is http://www.tornadoforex.com/ however, their company name is listed as "TornadoFX". I wonder how much they are willing to pay for the domain name :D I'm going to contact them and find out!

If you bring in a couple of million, spare me a dollar or two!:D

I am pleased to announce that - after a successful auction - the domain stormskies.com has been transferred to a new owner effective today.

I'm curious as too the final price, but I know it's not likely to be published.
