I bought my Nikons mainly for one reason.. lightning. Tonight, I nabbed one of those shots that make your top list. I was thrilled this with as it was the last one of the evening for me. I know Cianca and a few others nabbed some great stuff out of tonight's storms, but given the ongoing tornado event and the lack of real chasing with this, I opted to start a thread for it.

My shot of the night, straight from the camera with absolutely zero post-processing.. just how I like it.

More lightning shots from this event...

That's a great one. I tried some lightning the other night near Branson, MO, never got on bolts, just long exposure glow created by lightning.

PS, I'm usually prett verbose, but was going to just post "That's a great one." I've never had a board stop me for not having written enough!

I drove down to Cherry Creek Reservoir to watch the lightning with a friend of mine. That storm kept putting out fantastic CGs for at least an hour! I wish I could have taken photos of it, but my point and shoot (my only camera atm) tends to take really blurry pictures in low light conditions :(

Beautiful shots Tony! Did you happen to take a gander to the east during the sunset? The color of the clouds where very nice

Awesome shot, Tony! What Nikon model are you using?

I'm looking foward to the onset of Monsoon season for some insane Arizona lightning. Hope it will be better than last year.

I was watching the cgs debating whether or not to shoot 'em or not. I felt like I'd have needed to be further east and so opted not to since I was in the midst of returning the rental car, etc., etc... Now I'm kicking myself :). Great job, Tony. BTW: I think this was the first year we haven't run into each other since '04...well...and last year, 'course.

Don't know why I can't catch lightning ... oh, yes I do. LOL I *so* need a better camera -- great shots!
