Delaware Tornado

I just spoke to one of my friends in Wilmington, DE and they had a wild ride yesterday afternoon. An NWS rated F2 touched down around 415 at New Castle County Airport and did significant damage including tipping over 5 C-130 cargo planes. The storm knocked out power to 3800 in the county with several minor injuries reported. The storm passed within two 4 miles of my friends home, and she said she had extremely heavy rain and gusty winds, but in fact had no idea a tornado was in the area until after the fact...sigh...

THIS IS THE FIRST F2 TORNADO IN DELAWARE
AND NEW CASTLE COUNTY SINCE SEPTEMBER 27, 1993,
WHICH WAS NOT TROPICAL RELATED. THIS IS
ALSO THE FIRST TORNADO IN DELAWARE SINCE
AUGUST 13TH, 1998, AND THE FIRST IN
NEW CASTLE COUNTY SINCE MAY 25TH, 1995.
