• After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.

I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.

For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.

From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.

    Sincerely, Jeff D.

Cool shot of that BOY a talkin I will B posting a similar one like this from a BOY from Colorado in the next few weeks. Where was this nailed???

Thanks. I got it here my town, LaPlata MD. I was in a soccer field

I didn't know what I had when I first got it. I was using my last roll of Slide film. Had to wait till they came back from the lab. LOL
I have since moved to digital over the winter and have yet to try it with lightning.

I totally understand that. Our eyes can't process all the detail in the tiny millisecond that we have available to see the lightning. Surprising details come forward only when we get the pictures back. That's what happened with this one-I only saw a fuzz-ball of light, no idea what it was. But the camera caught much more than I saw originally with my eyes and froze it in time. That is one of the best parts of lightning photography:)

With your shot, what did you see with your eyes? Anything?

Oh I know!I only saw something out of the corner of my eye, but sure didn't see all that.

Guess we tend to see the main strike but can't see the branches.

I know cloud to cloud strikes are a lot easier to see. There was a cop talking to me when I got this one and he watched it go right over us, HAHAHAH right after he said... "See ya" and hauled butt :p

First, I gotta say, the pics in this thread are absolutely AWESOME :D, from both of you :), I much aadmit though, I'm beginning to wish that I could move to AZ, and start taking lightning pics, because as much as I enjoy studying tornadoes, I still find myself always that bit more fascinated and intrigued by lightning, probably because lightning is what I got interested in first, before I became interested in tornadoes :)

I gotta honestly say that Susan's collection of pics, always have me wishing that there was a thunderstorm outside, so that I could grab my Nikon f55 and a few rolls of film and start snapping some pics to see if I can get anything on film :D, but at the same time, I really appreciate all lightning photography and I enjoy viewing it all very much :)

Keep up the great work guys, it's a credit to this site to come on here and enjoy such great imagery, thank you very much for posting these :)

Thanks Willie. Pretty awesome Avatar you have there!!
Great shot as usual Susan!!!

I'm in the process of trying to buy a house in Snow Camp NC. Not many trees around,or houses, or anything! LOL. But Looks like I'll be able to get good lightning images without leaving the yard!! :D
