Here are some pictures I captured of Jupiter and Saturn from S California during its closest approach on December 20-21, 2020.



Dec 20: Close-up (OK, but not great) view. Jupiter and its moon, Saturn to upper right.



Dec 21: Wide view.

Great shots @cdcollura ! Where were you when you took these pictures? With what type of equipment did you capture the close-up? Impressive that you were able to get Jupiter’s moon too...

Is the second picture pretty much how it looked to the naked eye?

Unfortunately, it was cloudy where I live (Philadelphia area).
