As some of you may know, bedbugs have seen a resurgence across the United States. I decided to poke around, and found reports from tripadvisor.com concerning bedbugs at these places:

Montrose, CO - Best Western
Abilene, KS - Diamond Motel
Santa Rosa, NM - Best Western
Elk City, OK - Ramada Inn
Amarillo, TX - Kiva Hotel (2 reports)
Texarkana, TX - La Quinta
Tulsa, OK - La Quinta on Skelly Dr.
Blue Springs, MO (Kansas City) - Hampton Inn
Columbia, MO - Days Inn

On the positive side this is hardly scientific, but on the negative side there probably are other places not listed here that are infested. Fortunately most bedbug complaints are pouring out not the Plains but the east coast (particularly New York and Florida) and in California, not surprising as those areas are landing points for a lot of global travel.

You certainly don't want to be taking any of these things home with you, and given the numerous bedbug reports that are snowballing on Google News it may not hurt to make a habit of keeping your belongings on those metal luggage racks, rather than strewn over beds and chairs.
