Chase Event Commemorative Posters

Justin came up with a great idea on how to market my artwork. You can find that discussion in the Weather Art thread. Anyone interested in having a commemorative poster made of a chase event can pick up to 10 events and post them on this thread.

After I get enough replies I will then narrow it down to 5 events and hold a vote on the first event to be made into a commemorative poster complete with satellite/radar composite of the storm(s), mesoanalysis maps, sounding(s), and maybe a drawing of the storm or tornado depending on what kind of demand there is.

Here is the expected price range for a commemorative poster. This may change once I find out the costs to replicate the drawings and have them matted and framed.

< 5 buyers: $125 per commemorative poster
5 -10 buyers: $105 per commemorative poster
10 -20 buyers: $90 per commemorative poster
> 20 buyers: $75 per commemorative poster

Also, any additional custom drawings added would be extra.

Now I need the rest of you who are interested to post up to 10 events you would be interested in having a commemorative poster of. I will give you about two weeks or so (depending on the response) and then I will narrow down the results to 5 events. There is no obligation to buy any artwork even if you post your suggested dates. I am just looking for what people would most be interested in.

Here is my list, in no particular order....

1. May 12th, 2004
2. May 22nd, 2004
3. May 24th, 2008
4. June 13th, 2007
5. May 29th, 2004
6. May 8th, 2003
7. June 12th, 2004
8. May 11th, 2005 (This probably won't get any other votes)
9. May 5th, 2007
10. November 27th, 2005

EDIT: It might be a good idea to let everyone view the finished product before there is any obligation to get in on the group buy. Many people will be hesitant to agree to a group buy without seeing the quality of the finished product.

Well due to the overwhelming response (sarcasm) I will go ahead and post ten dates I think would be the most popular.

In no particular order:

May 24, 2008

May 23, 2008

May 4, 2007

May 12, 2004

June 12, 2004

June 23, 1998

May 3, 1999

May 22, 2004

May 4, 2003

May 8, 2003

Because this thread has had a lot of views and no replies I am working on a commemorative piece for May 24, 2008 which will be framed and matted. Once that piece is completed I will get some pictures up here for everyone to see exactly what I am talking about. Again, feel free to drop up to ten chase dates you would like to see done.

I think this is an excellent idea. I would actually be interested in possibly purchasing one. I look forward to seeing your May 24th so we can see exactly what you are talking about. I am not going to post a top 10, however I really like the lists you and Justin have put together. Actually I will give a quick top 5 which are the same dates as you guys posted.

May 4, 2007

Hey guys, thanks for the dates. I am going to wait a couple of weeks or so and narrow it down to maybe 5 or less dates and then have a vote on which date to work on next. In the meantime I will be working on May 24, 2008.

Again, feel free to post any dates you prefer even if they are already on here.
