Changing a tire in Fort Supply

I changed out a flat tire in this on the night of June 11 on Highway 270 west of Fort Supply, Oklahoma. At least I could see what I was doing without a flashlight. I had to stop working and take shelter in the car at one point when they got too close. I eventually limped down the road to get under some power lines for protection before resuming tightening the lug nuts on the spare.

Thankfully, Wal-Mart's tire and lube center in Woodward was open early on Sunday morning, allowing me to continue south to Childress and eventually Kent County.

I had to a live shot for work last winter in Fort Supply. While there, our news van attracted some friendly high schoolers who came by to chat. I found out there were 40 kids in the high school, and that's in a consolidated school district!
