Good day all,
Jeff, those images are computer modeling of the hurricane's core flow, and have 2km, 4km, and 8km resolutions. The higher the resolution, the more detailed (zooomed) they are.
Anyway, impressive images of the core flow-field (computer modeled).
Interesting as the "eye" of Camille passed right over where the right eyewall of hurricane Katrina in 2005 went over. Katrina was many times larger, through, and not as strong as Camille at landfall (but had a higher surge).
Dreaming of something like that in the Atlantic now, but I guess we have to wait.
