caps and boundaries....

I see alot of debate and discussion on here about when a cap breaks and the boundary area. It seems different folks have different ways of identifying these. Can any layout their best way to identify these?
 
Are you asking how to identify a cap? Or a boundary? Or the breaking of either? I guess I'm a little confused about what you are looking for...

All of the above I guess... from browsing around it seems there is an art to identifying when the cap will break and where the boundaries will end up.

I was just interested in what the best ways to figure these out would be, there seem to be different schools of thought.
