I was looking at both the 60D and 7D on BH waiting for the rebate today. The 60D was $888 yesterday and today it is $999 before the rebate making it $899, $11 more than before the rebate. The 7D I think was $1478 yesterday. Today it is $1899 making it $1699 after the rebate. $200 more than before the rebate? What gives? Did anyone hear the price of the camera was going up? Kind of wish I did not wait on the rebate.

Seen this happen several times in the past. A lot of time when a rebate comes along the price will jump.

Just checked Adorama and their price is still $1479.

I emailed B&H about this, since I found it to be quite shady. Here's the reply I just received:

"I do apologize. There was a pricing error on the 7D on our website. We are correcting the price as soon as possible. In order to receive the correct price on the 7D you can contact our sales department at 800.606.6969. The correct price after the instant rebate is $1499.00. Again I do apologize for the error. "

It looks like Amazon still had pre-"sale" pricing, or at least they didn't change their pricing for the instant rebate. AFAIK, since this is an instant rebate, the price you see on the web is the price you pay (in other words, the prices should include the "rebate"). $888 for the 60D is tempting (as an upgrade from my 20D) if I can get the approval of the wife!

I sent an email to both BH and Canon. Still waiting on a response. But from googling this problem, there are a lot of upset folks on this. Even the price after instant rebate of $1499 it is more than the before rebate price yesterday. A lot of folks were thinking they would be buying a 7d for $1278 today from BH.

lol, typical answer. I'm all for somebody trying to turn a profit, but from $1480 one day to $1900 the next, even to $1700.......geez.
