Calender Photo

At first glance I thought of the Bird City, KS tornado from 2000 but if the calender is from 1999 it obviously can't be that. The only other possible tornado that I can think of that looks close would be the Beaver City, NE tornado from 1989. I would be interested to know if that is the Beaver City tornado since the pic below is the only one I have ever seen of it.

The picture was taken in 1997 in Julesburg CO. The people who took that picture own and operate a restaurant just northwest of the intersection of I-76 and US 385. They have several pictures of that tornado hanging up in the restaurant and are very happy to share information about it to anyone who asks.

Yea, there is something cool about that area of Southwest NE, Northeast CO and Western KS that gets those photogenic landspout type tornadoes. That doesn't surprise me at all that the tornado in question came from the Julesburg area as Jeff mentioned. For as many times I have stopped at Julesburg and never went to that resturant, I will definately have grab a bite to eat there now, hehe.

Of course this one has already been posted in here this year but it has a very similar look to it and it's from that area.

The funny thing is of the three tornadoes discussed on this thread, all were taken by locals and not chasers.

That picture was also on the cover of Weatherwise back in the 80s sometime. Great photo.
